Oritz. |

In 1997, Stephen
was made an associate of the Australian Music Centre. |

In 1998, Deborah de Graaff commissioned a quartet for
clarinet, violin, violoncello and piano for the Ku- |

ring-gai virtuosi
and consequently performed and recorded by the ABC. In the same year,
‘Down |

|
Tango’d’ (1996)
for string orchestra was chosen by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra
playerlink |

program to be
played in Dubbo to great success. Later that year the work was played
by the |

|
Newcastle
Conservatorium Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Debbie Lander
and by Sydney |

Access Centre String Ensemble conducted by Ronald Thomas. |

Stephen has written several pieces
for Jason Xanthoudakis including
Il Baco (1997),
Fandangle Indeed |

(1998),
Canto (2004) and
Scena
(2004). Stephen has recently written a version of
Il Baco for Solo
|
|
|
Soprano Saxophone and Orchestra that
will be premiered in 2005. |
