The Sonatina was composed for Jason
Xanthoudakis and Clemens Leske in August 2004 and is |
|
About |
dedicated to them. Although in a
traditional form I have tried to explore more contemporary or popular |

rhythms within the structure of the
old “sonata movement”. The outer movements in particular, are |

‘jazzy’ and syncopated. The slow
movement is a ‘Nocturne’ with some slightly unexpected chord |

changes in a choral or hymn-like
